These days I am following up the Sky Golf Italian Open, hence the inspiration to write this post for presentarv the strong link between Omega and the sport.
OMEGA has engaged in numerous efforts to promote golf as a sport at international level. The brand is committed to sustaining the sponsorship of competitions and tournaments and has welcomed the decision of the IOC to enter the gulf between the disciplines from the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
The entrance to the Olympics in this sport – long supported so enthusiastically by OMEGA – could not be late, the mark was over 24 times the official Olympic timekeeper since 1932. The history and tradition of OMEGA are certainly at a prestigious sports like golf.
The events that took the brand was founded in 1848, or 12 years before the first history of the British Open, held at the Prestwick Golf Club near Glasgow and could not have been otherwise … In more recent history, in 2007, OMEGA has become the main sponsor of the World Cup of Golf. Established in 1953, is the oldest and most prestigious international competition of golf teams in which teams of two players from the top 28 nations are invited to compete for the title.
OMEGA is sponsoring the World Cup held in Mission Hills, China, the world’s largest golf complex. The collaboration with the World Cup allows OMEGA to strengthen its presence in the international golf circuit. The brand is also the main sponsor of some of the biggest tournaments in the world, in particular the European Masters, the Dubai Desert Classic and Dubai Ladies Masters. OMEGA is no coincidence that counts among its ambassadors golfers Sergio Garcia and Michelle Wie.
